Shower enclosure installation
Shower enclosures and cubicles are available in a number of different designs and sizes. Generally the height of panels are 1800mm. As styles are available in quadrant, rectangular, square, pentagonal and off-set designs, each installation will require a different set of procedures, so consult the installation manual provided.
Here is a checklist of things to consider before installing a shower enclosure.
- There is adjustment for out of true walls.
- The sliding panels and fixed panels interlock when closed to give a water-tight seal.
- Part assemble the shower enclosure if possible and place it on the tray to check it fits correctly.
- Mark the position of the wall channels to make sure the enclosure sits correctly.
- The hanger brackets/rollers on sliding panels provide a smooth gliding action.
- The door handle should have a safe grip in the wet when opening and closing the doors.
- Ensure the wall channels are vertical using a spirit level.
- Seal the joints between the enclosure, tray, wall channels and tray on the outside only using silicone sealant.
