How to install a shower tray

Firstly, ensure you buy the correct size and acceptable shower tray before you begin your new shower enclosure installation. If you are tiling in the enclosure leave this until after the tray is fitted.
Now, temporarily fit the waste and trap to the tray, then move the tray into position against the walls. If it has adjustable feet place a spirit level on top of the tray and adjust the feet accordingly. If there is no adjustable feet you will have to bed the floor to a firm base. Make sure that the floor is flat and even. It is important the base of the shower tray is supported adequately. You should use either a silicone sealant, sand and cement (5 to 1 mix), or tile grout adhesive. Coat the whole base area for a firm fixing. Again, use a spirit level to get the tray exactly level.
Once that’s done you can connect the waste, then check for leaks.
After you have tiled the walls, use silicone seal between the bottom tile and the top of the tray.
